Job Description
The Center of Global Freight Procurement at Danfoss is seeking a global freight manager to impact the future of Ocean transportation. This role involves various transport logistics assignments, requiring the ability to embrace ambiguity and be agile.
The focus is on improving and optimizing agreements with Danfoss suppliers on transportation to ensure an optimized and high-performing supply chain. The role also involves setting direction and strategy, identifying tasks that need changes or optimization, and proactively seeking new assignments.
Being comfortable in an international environment and working with different cultures is essential.
The position offers a good work-life balance, with the main working base in Nordborg.
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.
• Implement and maintain agreements for the mode of transportation.
• Participate in projects, including tenders, in a professional manner according to the agreed timeline.
• Collaborate with the category team to ensure Danfoss has the right freight partners and maintains a strong relationship with them.
• Drive optimization and cost reduction projects within Logistics in cooperation with the Freight Procurement Regions, stakeholders, and/or suppliers.
• Develop the global strategy with the category team to ensure it aligns with stakeholders' expectations.
• Ensure strong collaboration with stakeholders from Segments and Divisions as well as external service providers.
• Build market intelligence within the mode to identify trends and share insights with the business.
• Monitor performance and facilitate performance dialogues with strategic suppliers to foster a high-performing culture.
• Play a key role in the tenders related to the cost mode.
Background & Skills
The ideal candidate for this position should have strong business acumen and an analytical/systematic approach. you should be able to identify individual tasks within the bigger picture and have a holistic view. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as stakeholder and change management abilities, are essential for building trust and relationships across the organization.
Being self-aware, independent, and having at least 5 years of experience in freight management and projects, including analyzing transportation flows to optimize cost and lead-time, is advantageous.
Navigating in a global environment and increasing customer satisfaction are key, as is being comfortable in a matrix organization and contributing to a high-performing and diverse team. You should be proactive, well-organized, and solution-oriented, with a high pace and a positive, energetic attitude. You should be able to work collaboratively, transparently, and with a sense of urgency when needed.
Having a proactive, out-of-the-box thinking mindset, challenging the status quo, and being fluent in written and spoken English are also important.
