Job Description

Join our team at Danfoss Climate Solutions, where we're advancing energy efficiency and developing next-generation products from concept to launch. We're seeking a Hardware Architect to join our dedicated engineering team in the Commercial Compressor electronics department.

 

Danfoss Commercial Compressors is a leading compressor manufacturer of scrolls Compressors, both fixed and variable speed solutions. Also leading compressor manufacturer of, reciprocating compressors, semi-hermetic reciprocating BOCK® compressors, condensing units, and centrifugal oil-free Turbocor® compressors.

 

These technologies are used in a variety of applications in the air conditioning, refrigeration, mobile buses, and heat pump markets globally. Danfoss Commercial Compressors plants are located close to customers in the USA, France, Germany, the Czech Republic, India, Brazil, and China.



This role will be located at our Headquarters in Nordborg, DK. 

Job Responsibilities

You will join a professional work environment where collaboration, interdependence, and co-determination are valued. You'll have access to high-tech facilities, including a modern, fully equipped laboratory, and work closely with skilled product design engineers in our advanced factory.


As a Hardware Architect, you will focus on Power Electronics. You will be responsible for the hardware architecture and concepts, leading platform alignment across all products to ensure coherence in technical decisions. You will drive system-level design and optimization for power electronics and control applications, as well as interface design between firmware and hardware components.

 

  • Design power architecture and select suitable power technologies.
  • Continuously learn and stay updated with emerging technologies, with extended focus on power electronics.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations for power and control electronics.
  • Optimize cost and value engineering in hardware design.
  • Manage and evaluate vendors for hardware components and services.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance for hardware design teams.
  • Troubleshoot and solve hardware-related issues.
  • Create and maintain design documentation.

You have team spirit that can build relations and cooperate across borders and cultures. You are creative, cooperative, and have a curious mindset driven by a passion for innovation.


The right candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:

 

  • Master’s degree in electrical engineering, Power Electronics or a related field. 
  • 8+ years of experience in Power electronics engineering - maybe even experience from a senior role.
  • Good knowledge of the different certifications regarding EMC/EMI, LVD, RoHS, RED, FCC, UL etc.
  • Ready to work with requirements management and architectural design tools 
  • Fluent in verbal and written English, Danish would also be considered as an advantage.
