Job Description

Danfoss is offering you an exciting career opportunity as a Patent Consultant. Your main focus will be on the outer boundaries of technology development, where digitalization plays a key role. You will join the Danfoss Intellectual Property Rights Department, based out of Nordborg, Denmark.

Job Responsibilities

Dealing with patents requires an eye for details, but also the ability to create an overview and see the bigger picture. One of your main responsibilities will be to identify new inventions and patent them. Furthermore, you will insure that Danfoss is not violating patents from other companies. You will also be involved in advising internal Danfoss customers and being in dialogue with international patent agents, especially from Germany, US and China. Some travel activity should be expected.

Background & Skills

The ideal candidate enjoys the combination of technology, language and law. As a person, you are detail oriented, analytical, structured, curious, proactive, thorough, self-driven, keep deadlines, and have a passion for reading and writing technical documentation.

Additionally, we are looking for: 

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical) or Physics;
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience, preferably within a multicultural environment;
  • Experience with Danfoss product areas would be an advantage but is not mandatory;
  • Experience with patents and the world of IP is preferred;
  • Being a European Patent Attorney or in the process of becoming one or possessing other formal patent qualifications would be an advantage;
  • Strong oral and written English skills are required. German reading skills are an advantage.
