Danfoss Sensing Solutions is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with expertise in embedded systems firmware development.

Our extensive sensor portfolio enhances energy efficiency and reliable control in demanding equipment across off-highway machinery, refrigeration, air conditioning, and renewable energy.

The primary work location is at our Danfoss A/S headquarters in Nordborg, Denmark, with flexibility for the right candidate to work from our Kolding campus.

Job Responsibilities

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will:

· Develop software features for sensing solution products using C programming language.

· Write and execute unit test cases and scripts.

· Perform code reviews.

· Continuously improve work processes and tools through creative ideas.

· Mentor and coach other engineers and trainees.

· Collaborate closely with software developers and NPD teams.

· Communicate with colleagues and external partners to understand solutions and requirements.

Background & Skills

We expect 5+ years of experience in an industrial context, ideally with agile teams and a general understanding of Scrum principles. Experience collaborating with hardware developers and production is preferred.

Key skills include:

· Ability to interpret architecture, design diagrams, and requirement specifications.

· Experience with fieldbus systems (RS485, Modbus RTU, CANOpen) and low-level interfaces (UART, I2C, OWI).

· Bare-metal programming for low-level drivers and embedded software development for microcontrollers.

· Solid coding skills in C/C++, familiarity with assembly language are a must.

· Python experience is a plus.

· Interest in cybersecurity is a plus.

Success in this role requires collaboration in cross-functional teams, good communication skills, and a proactive approach to challenges. A mindset for learning and growth, along with a willingness to take on responsibilities beyond core competencies, is essential.
