Job Description

Danfoss is now hiring our next Senior Strategy and Business Development Manager to support our Climate Solutions segment in Canada.  We are seeking a passionate and motivated individual with an entrepreneurial mindset.  In the newly created position, you will apply strategic and sales acumen to evaluate current and emerging markets and business prospects to drive sales and harvest profitable growth.   This role reports to the Vice President of Sales for Climate Solutions, North America, and is responsible for supporting the Canadian market.  Ideally, we'd like this person to be located near our office in Oakville, Ontario, but we are open to this person being located in other parts of Canada.  

Job Responsibilities

In this position, you will lead the development and support execution of business strategy and short-term & long-term growth initiatives for the North American Climate Solutions business. Responsible for all climate solutions business including different “Go to market” channels (Global, OEM, Contractor, Distribution, End User) & applications.  Furthermore, you will collaborate across Sales, Segment Marketing, Sales Development, Global Accounts & Global marketing teams to develop strong competitive market intelligence for all DCS businesses.

 

Key tasks

 

  • Development and execution of NAM Climate Solutions business strategy – Long term (3-5 years) & short-term sales priorities.
  • Define & execute “Must Win Battles” along with the sales team to maximize NAM Climate Solutions growth potential.
  • Responsible for the development of individual products, hotspots, business growth & whitespace sales strategy.
  • Drive quarterly regional business reviews.
  • Drive & scale cross-selling and synergy sales among different channels & customers.
  • Based on competition insights from segment marketing, extrapolate strategic relevance for NAM Climate Solutions.
  • Work directly with key engineering and procurement companies (EPCs) and end-users, by engaging the appropriate sales channels, to achieve the corresponding revenue growth and sales targets.

Background & Skills

We are looking for a highly self-motivated candidate with a profound understanding and solid experience in Strategy, ideally with an Engineering background and/or technical aptitude. Furthermore, we are looking for:

 

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a matrix to deliver results on complex projects
  • 5+ years developing and strategically growing business in Canada
  • Background in “Climate Solutions” businesses & “Go to Market” channels will be preferred
  • Ability to apply analytical and strategic thinking, with strong business judgment to solve ambiguous problems independently
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, including the capability to present effectively to senior leadership inside and outside Danfoss
  • A competent, courageous leader with the maturity to maintain focus under pressure
  • Bachelor’s degree required and Master’s degree preferred
  • Flexibility with regard to travel (up to 25% nationally and internationally)
  • Fluency in English is required, proficiency in additional languages is beneficial
