We are seeking an experienced and innovative Lead Engineer to join our System Solutions Global R&D Engineering team. In this role, you will be instrumental in driving the development of cutting-edge refrigeration systems for commercial cooling applications. You will lead a team of engineers through the entire product development lifecycle, from initial concept to successful product launch.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Be the Technical Authority: Provide expert technical leadership and collaborate with a team of engineers, fostering a shared and high-performing environment.
  • Lead from the Front: Spearhead the design and development of innovative refrigeration systems and sub-assemblies, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer needs.
  • Turn Ideas into Reality: Conduct feasibility studies, develop compelling concepts, perform detailed thermodynamic simulations, and translate designs into clear schematics for mockup or prototype tests.
  • Optimize for Excellence: Leverage your expertise in static and dynamic analysis tools (e.g., Ansys, EEES..) and laboratory testing to optimize designs for maximum performance and efficiency for sustainable future.
  • Collaborate for Success: Partner seamlessly with cross-functional teams to define project scope, develop robust plans, and ensure timely execution according to Danfoss's Product Development Process.
  • Document for Impact: Create and drive meticulous engineering documentation, including design specifications, simulation reports, DFMEA analyses, and technical guidelines etc.,
  • Be a Problem-Solver: Proactively identify, diagnose, and resolve technical roadblocks during the product development journey to ensure smooth and successful product launches.
  • Champion Innovation: Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team, encouraging knowledge sharing and the exploration of new ideas.
  • Integrate Agile into Product Development: Lead the strategic integration of agile principles and practices towards optimizing workflows, communication, and decision-making for faster TTM and more responsive product development.

Background & Skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of proven experience in refrigeration product development, with a strong emphasis on vapor compression systems and a track record of technical leadership.
  • Expert-level proficiency in engineering simulation software such as Ansys, Fluent, and Vapcyc.
  • Deep understanding of thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and refrigeration system design principles.
  • Hands-on Project experience in commercial refrigeration product is a must.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.
