Job Description

We have an immediate opportunity for a systems Engineer – electrohydraulic systems to join our diverse engineering team of Industrial Projects, Systems & Services. This position is for Povazska, Slovakia location. The Engineer will be responsible for design and development of various hydraulic system architectures for Industrial projects & systems. You will be responsible for contributing technologies which can change the economics of Industrial business. You will design system controls for hydraulics pump and electric motor, drive systems, generate IP, plan and support to execute field trials to understand their needs, and work closely with the team to assess business impact and constraints. You must be proficient with new product development methodologies, tools and practices, and must have experience of full life cycle development of hydraulics or relevant domain products, on multiple projects including requirements, design, development, and testing.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.

  • Thorough understanding of system design and development principles, with strong problem-solving skills while working with the diverse and global teams
  • Come up with innovative product concepts/ideas to build active portfolio, focusing on product strategies and protect IP through patents/trade secrets
  • Technical oversight responsibility for complex and dynamic electro hydraulic systems and solutions for industrial hydraulics applications
  • Own the systems’ development (e.g. Variable speed drive and electro hydraulic actuation) and deliverables from conceptual design to production and supports including testing on hydraulics system test stands.
  • Participate in end-product team meetings to communicate product development status.
  • Play a key role in a team of systems and controls development consisting of electric motor, drive, Hydraulic pump, valves, sensors & hydraulic actuators
  • Work on simulation platforms like automation studio, Matlab – Simulink and others
  • Develop project value propositions and document engineering results in white papers, engineering reports, trade magazine articles, and conference papers
  • Stay up-to-date regarding your field of engineering and technology related to Danfoss
  • Promote quality and continuous improvement philosophy

Background & Skills

The ideal candidate possesses these skills.

  • BE/B.TECH with 3-5 years of relevant experience or ME/M.Tech in Hydraulics, or Electrical or Mechatronics or related engineering area with 2-4 years of engineering/product design experience in relevant domain.
  • 2+ years’ experience developing, simulating and validating scalable Electro hydraulics applications and/or distributed systems.
  • Deep understanding of hydraulic technologies, products, and applications as well as broad understanding of electrical and electronic controls and communication, related to electric motors, frequency/servo drives
  • Exposure with Ethernet and wireless communications.
  • Experience in electro-hydraulics or industrial applications like Injection moulding machines, press breaks etc
  • Very good communication skills in Slovak & English
