Job Description

 

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Front-End Developer with expertise in leading the development of our design system. In the role of Lead Front-End Developer at Danfoss, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our design system to enhance collaboration, ensure consistency, and expedite design and development cycles. You will be in charge of translating design specifications into responsive, accessible, and uniform user interfaces, overseeing seamless integration, and ensuring adherence to established guidelines.

Front-end Developer will be a part of of DCE (Digital Customer Experience), within Danfoss Group IT & Digital. Digital Customer Experience team consist of more than 100 colleagues from all over the world, where we develop, support and lead the digital customer experience in Danfoss. Job Responsibilities

 

  • Web Component Library Development: Develop comprehensive web component library using Stencil.js, promoting reusability and consistency across our applications
  • User Interface Design: Collaborate with UI/UX designers to implement visually appealing and user-friendly interfaces within the web component library
  • Automated Testing: Implement automated end-to-end testing using Playwright to ensure the reliability and quality of the web components
  • Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Configure and work with Azure Pipelines or similar CI/CD tools to automate the build, test, and deployment processes for the component library
  • Performance Optimization: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in the web components to deliver a fast and responsive user experience
  • Code Reviews: Participate in code reviews to maintain the quality of the web component library, share knowledge, and ensure coding best practices are followed
  • Strategy: Leading the evolution and improvement of the design system by researching and implementing new technolgies and best practices as well as exploring and proposing best solutions for component and design system architecture based on the long-term business goals
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with other team members to seamlessly integrate the web components into our applications as well as playing a sparing partner role to the product owner in setting the design system standards
  • Documentation: Create and maintain visual (Storybook) and technical documentation for the web component library, including usage guidelines and API documentation
  • Mentorship: Mentor junior developers, share knowledge, and help grow the front-end development team's expertise in web component development

Background & Skills

 

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience with front-end development preferable with focus on design systems
  • Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue)
  • Extensive experience in building and maintaining design systems for large-scale applications
  • Expertise in automated testing using Playwright or similar tools
  • Experience with modern front-end libraries and frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js)
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and build tools (e.g., Webpack or Vite)
  • Experience with Azure Pipelines or other CI/CD tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are prerequisites for this role
