Job Title:  Principle Software Platform Architect, Embedded Systems (m/f/d)

The Impact You'll Make

As a Software Platform Architect (m/f/d) for Embedded Systems, you will shape the architecture of a business-critical embedded software platform PLUS+1 that is used across multiple products, engineering teams, and future product generations. Your work will help create a shared software foundation that enables innovation, improves development efficiency, and supports significant business growth.

In this role, you will balance technical depth with collaboration, working closely with engineers, product teams, systems specialists, and business stakeholders. Success means creating a platform that teams trust, understand, and choose to adopt because it helps them deliver products more effectively. You'll have the opportunity to influence long-term technology strategy, guide architectural decisions, and help build solutions that will be used for years to come.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Define and evolve the architecture of a reusable embedded software platform used across multiple products and programs.
  • Work closely with engineering teams and stakeholders to understand requirements, identify common needs, and translate them into scalable platform capabilities.
  • Lead architectural decisions, document trade-offs and rationale, and guide teams through complex technical challenges.
  • Establish clear interfaces, extension mechanisms, and governance practices that enable product teams to build independently while remaining aligned.
  • Drive platform adoption, reuse, lifecycle sustainability, and continuous improvement through feedback, metrics, and collaboration.

What We're Looking For

Essential Qualifications:

  • Significant experience designing and evolving large-scale embedded software systems or software platforms used across multiple products or teams.
  • Deep knowledge of embedded software architecture, hardware/software interaction, system integration, and real-time or resource-constrained environments.
  • Experience with platform design principles including modularity, API and interface design, dependency management, configuration, and long-term software lifecycle management.
  • Demonstrated ability to make architectural decisions that balance technical, organizational, and business considerations.
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and influence engineers, technical leaders, and stakeholders across organizational boundaries.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in environments with high requirements for safety, security, reliability, maintainability, or regulatory compliance.
  • Professional certifications or formal training in software architecture, systems engineering, functional safety, cybersecurity, MBSE/SysML, or related disciplines.
  • Experience with modern embedded development practices including CI/CD, automated testing, software quality, and platform integration.
