As a Process Engineering Intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience supporting manufacturing operations while helping improve the processes that drive safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance. Working alongside experienced engineering and operations teams in Tallahassee, Florida, you’ll contribute to process improvement initiatives, facility and workflow optimization, and data-driven decision-making. Your work will help identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and support continuous improvement across the operation.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Support manufacturing and process improvement projects by analyzing workflows, material handling methods, and production processes to improve operational performance.
- Collect and evaluate operational data using statistical analysis, observations, and time studies to help establish efficient work standards and identify improvement opportunities.
- Create and update process documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) documents.
- Develop equipment, workspace, and facility layouts using 2D/3D CAD tools to improve productivity, workflow, and space utilization.
- Partner with engineering and operations teams to troubleshoot issues, recommend solutions, and support project execution while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
What We're Looking For
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, with junior or senior standing preferred.
- Ability to analyze data, apply mathematical and statistical concepts, and use structured problem-solving methods to improve processes.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and other business productivity tools.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering and operations teams.
- Ability to work a minimum of 20 hours per week between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM, and perform activities that may include standing, walking, and occasionally lifting materials within a manufacturing environment.
