The Impact You'll Make

Danfoss is seeking a Production Supervisor for the Van Wert, OH location. The Production Supervisor will oversee the Distribution operation during the 4th shift, working three 12 hour days from Friday - Sunday 7a.m. - 7p.m. Responsibilities include monitoring production levels and deliveries to meet plans, proactively managing scraps and rework, and fostering a safe work environment through effective training and hazard prevention. The role involves maintaining high employee morale to support positive relations, supervising and directing staff, and managing daily employee activities. The supervisor will ensure performance metrics are tracked and used to drive continuous improvement. Additionally, they will guarantee that equipment is available and used safely to support efficient business operations. The position requires implementing and enforcing all policies, practices, and benefits while applying effective leadership and employee relations techniques to promote fair and equitable treatment for all facility employees. The supervisor will also identify and apply methods to enhance efficiency, quality, service, and operating profits continuously.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with customers, suppliers, contractors and key intra company people to effectively manage the operation for best results.
  • Ensure through training and daily audits that safe practices are constantly employed throughout the facility.
  • Regularly communicate and demonstrate Danfoss Behaviors, ethics, and values. Counsel and discipline employees as necessary.
  • Manage the performance of direct reports. Develops, motivates and coaches team members, acts as an employee advocate and interviews with potential new hires.
  •  Assists in the creation of training plans and programs and promotes cross-training opportunities. 

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a supervisory role. Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business. 
  • Experience with lean, six sigma, and/or continuous improvement. Minimum 3 years of manufacturing experience. 
  • Proficient in MS Office • Experience with SAP and TMS. Experience in a fast-paced Distribution Center.
  • Preferred bilingual proficiency in English (primary) and Spanish.
  •  This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
