Job Description

As the Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for growing top line revenue from the sales of Danfoss Fluid Conveyance products, through the development of new sales opportunities and expanding the share of existing accounts. You will have a close collaboration together with account sales team, product managers, and application engineer in division / business units to serve our distribution and OEM customers in the best way.  

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following. 

  • Work with business units to deliver revenue, margin, and growth targets in defined territory / channel.
  • Develop and execute a business plan, and build targeted account plans, resulting in a robust business growth pipeline. Align with sales leaders on strategic accounts and growth targets across the sales channel
  • Support sales org on customer relationships at a strategic level with joint sales activities. Establish strong and healthy relationships with different stakeholders in existing and new accounts
  • Managing leads, opportunities in the CRM system
  • Coordinate strategic initiatives and strategic planning.  
  • Conduct periodic reviews of business to ensure accurate forecasting and opportunity management; analyse wins and losses; present regular, accurate reports for management for review.
  • Build and maintain quality internal relationships across the organisation.
  • Meet/exceed annual sales / pipeline targets and performance KPIs.
  • Travel as required within India and abroad.

Background & Skills

The ideal candidate possesses these skills. 

  • 10+ years’ experience in direct sales, and/or business development within the fluid power industry combined with bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business administration. MBA is preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and effectively implementing sales solutions to meet the customers’ needs and drive business results.
  • Ability to construct detailed sales plans, develop, conduct training seminars, make presentations, and prepare quotes and tenders
  • Strong customer facing presentation and influencing skills.
  • Demonstrated customer relationship management experience.
  • Build and maintain a strong understanding of the industry and competitor trends.
  • Ability to proactively engage with both corporate and site-based external stakeholders and clients.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to articulate the Danfoss value proposition to prospects and clients.
  • Able to travel domestically and internationally if required.
  • Proficient user of MS Office tools
