Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following. 

  • Senior Engineer is expected to have strong understanding of mechatronic systems and control system development.  
  • Expected to be abrest with the industry trends i.e. advanced motion control system viz. adaptive control learning, diagnostics algorithms & identifies opportunities in response to the industry needs keeping in view organization’s vision & mission. 
  • Responsible to reach out to external bodies to fill these gaps as needed.
  • Capability to coordinate with global program teams by working collaboratively with broader Advanced Technology team as well as product engineering teams. 
  • Responsible for making compelling technology proposals in the area of off-highway vehicles and stationary machine applications, inserting these into product roadmaps to create a distinct advantage for our products over competition. 
  • Responsible for leading deliverables to ensure its accuracy and co-ordinate with integrated project teams 
  • Provide technical leadership for the technology development and work closely with technologists - Collaborate with global experts, external partners and extended teams to enable technology development 
  • Lead the development of dynamic machine control projects, co-ordinate with globally diverse cross-functional project teams effectively and deliver technology solution - Develop new control strategies to enable smarter and efficient machine operations viz. stability control, steer-by-wire systems, efficient power management

Background & Skills

The ideal candidate possesses these skills. 

  • Master’s Degree Or Ph.D. in Mechanical / Electrical / Systems / Controls Engineering or equivalent technical field from accredited institutions 
  • Masters with 6+ years’/ PHD with 1 to 2 years engineering/technology development experience in relevant domain for the mechatronic systems and control systems 
  • Experience in developing controls architectures for electro-mechanical and electro-hydraulic systems.
  • Demonstrated hands-on implementation of controls in the systems and tuning for desired performance Exposure to DFSS, AgileStarts and Design Thinking tools and methodologies 
  • Working experience especially in the context of model-based and hardware-in-loop control algorithm and software development processes will be added advantage 
  • Deep understanding of advanced controls methods in complex industrial systems with both dynamical and finite states - Strong understanding and hands-on on physics based modeling and model based controls development in MATLAB/Simulink environment.
  • Understanding of RTI, Stateflow, communication protocols viz. CAN, CANOpen, Profinet will be a plus
  •  Working experience of MIL and HIL simulation for verification and validation of controls
  • Advanced controls strategies viz. adaptive controls, gain scheduled control, optimal control understanding will be a plus.
  • Integration of the systems viz. sensors, ECU, electromechanical and electrohydraulic components and implementation of controls on applications viz. off-highway vehicles and industrial stationary machinery 
  • Understanding of functional safety will be an added advantage
