Job Description
Req ID:  51142
Job Location:  Pune, IN
Employment Type:  Full Time
Segment:  Danfoss Power Solutions Segment
Job Category:  R&D, Technology and Engineering
Work Location Type:  On-site
Job Title:  Sr. Lead Engineer

The Impact You'll Make

As a Lead / Sr. Lead Engineer – FEA Simulations, you will play a critical role in advancing the virtual product development capabilities of Danfoss Fluid Conveyance. You will lead complex simulation activities that help improve the performance, durability, reliability, and efficiency of hydraulic hose assemblies, fittings, couplings, and related fluid conveyance products.

Your expertise in nonlinear finite element analysis, rubber and composite material modeling, and design validation will enable data-driven engineering decisions, reduce dependence on physical prototypes, and accelerate innovation. Working closely with global teams across design, testing, materials, and manufacturing, you will help deliver robust solutions that address customer challenges and support the development of industry-leading products.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead advanced structural, nonlinear, and contact FEA simulations for hydraulic hose fittings, couplings, ferrules, inserts, and hose assemblies to support product development and validation.
  • Develop and validate simulation models for rubber compounds, elastomeric materials, and reinforced composite hose constructions, including braided and spiral reinforcement structures.
  • Drive simulation-led design decisions by evaluating performance characteristics such as burst pressure, proof pressure, fatigue life, fitting retention, impact resistance, and durability.
  • Collaborate with global cross-functional teams to investigate product failures, correlate simulation results with physical testing, and develop engineering design guidelines and best practices.
  • Mentor engineers, lead technical discussions, and promote the adoption of virtual testing methodologies that improve development efficiency and product quality.
In this role, you will also contribute to continuous improvement of simulation methodologies, support multiple engineering programs simultaneously, and provide technical recommendations that influence product strategy, design optimization, and manufacturing decisions.

What We're Looking For

Essential Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Applied Mechanics, or a related field with a specialization in Finite Element Analysis, CAE, or simulation engineering.
  • 8–12 years of experience in Finite Element Analysis (FEA), CAE, and product simulation, including significant experience with structural, nonlinear, and contact analyses.
  • Strong expertise in modeling and analysis of rubber-metal interfaces, large deformation behavior, hyperelastic materials, and nonlinear contact interactions.
  • Proven experience with composite material modeling, particularly braided and spiral reinforced hose constructions or similar reinforced structures.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability with experience guiding engineering projects, mentoring team members, and communicating complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in hydraulic hose systems, hose fittings, quick disconnect couplings, fluid conveyance products, or hydraulic machinery will be highly valued. Knowledge of fatigue and durability analysis tools such as nCode, fe-safe, or equivalent software is advantageous. Exposure to Design for Six Sigma (DFSS), Design of Experiments (DOE), optimization methodologies, and programming skills in Python or C++ would be beneficial.
We are also looking for professionals who have experience working with global teams, developing engineering best practices, interpreting material test data, and managing multiple concurrent projects while maintaining high technical standards.

What You'll Get from Us

  1. We promote from within and support your learning with mentoring, training, and access to global opportunities.
  2. You’ll have flexibility, autonomy, and support to do your best work while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Your well-being matters to us.
  3. We strive to create an inclusive work environment where people of all backgrounds are respected, and valued for who they are.
  4. You’ll receive benefits like 13th salary, annual bonus, paid vacation, pension plans, personal insurance, and more. These vary by country and contract, but they’re worth asking about—we think they’re pretty great.
