Req ID:  50980
Job Location:  Sofia, BG
Employment Type:  Full Time
Segment:  Danfoss Climate Solutions Segment
Job Category:  Quality and Environment, Health and Safety (EHS)
Work Location Type:  On-site
Job Title:  Quality Engineer

The Impact You'll Make

As our Quality Engineer, you will play a key role in building and continuously improving quality across our manufacturing operations in Sofia — from incoming materials and suppliers, through production, to our customers.

Your impact? You will help make quality a shared responsibility across the organization, ensuring that products and processes meet the highest standards while identifying opportunities to prevent problems before they occur.

You’ll combine technical expertise, data-driven problem solving, and close collaboration with Production, Engineering, Suppliers, and other Danfoss teams to strengthen our quality system and drive continuous improvement.

This is an opportunity to join a growing manufacturing organization where you can shape quality processes, influence how we work, and see the direct results of your improvements on the shop floor.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Own quality throughout the product and process lifecycle — supporting new product and variant development, incoming quality, production processes, final inspection, and customer quality.
  • Drive problem solving and continuous improvement by leading root cause analysis, 4-step and 8D activities, addressing internal and potential nonconformities, and ensuring effective corrective actions.
  • Manage and improve quality processes and standards, including IATF 16949 core tools, control plans, product and manufacturing audits, change management, measurement equipment calibration, and quality system documentation.
  • Work closely with suppliers and customers on quality issues, including supplier claims, customer complaints, waivers, external audits, and follow-up of nonconformities through to successful closure.
  • Use quality data to drive action by monitoring KPIs, analyzing trends and quality performance, reporting results, and identifying opportunities to improve processes, prevent errors, and strengthen overall quality performance.

What We're Looking For

We’re looking for a hands-on and analytical Quality Engineer who enjoys solving problems at their root cause and working closely with people across the manufacturing organization.

  • Relevant experience in a manufacturing or production environment, ideally in a Quality Engineering role, with practical knowledge of quality processes and continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of IATF 16949 core tools and structured problem-solving methods such as 8D and root cause analysis; experience with Lean or Six Sigma is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical and systematic approach, with the ability to work with quality data, KPIs, processes, and documentation and turn findings into practical improvements.
  • Good communication skills and confidence working with Production, suppliers, engineering teams, and other stakeholders in an international environment.
  • Fluent English, good IT skills including Microsoft Office, and ideally experience with SAP/ERP systems.

What You'll Get from Us

  • The opportunity to shape and continuously improve the quality system of a growing manufacturing organization, with visible impact on products, processes, and customer satisfaction.
  • A role with broad exposure across the entire quality value chain — from suppliers and new product development to production, audits, and customer complaints.
  • Collaboration with experienced colleagues across Quality, Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, and international Danfoss sites, giving you the opportunity to build both technical and business expertise.
  • Continuous learning and development through hands-on projects, mentoring, training, and exposure to Lean, IATF 16949, and modern quality practices.
  • A supportive and collaborative environment where you can take ownership, challenge existing ways of working, and turn your ideas into measurable improvements.
