The Impact You'll Make

The Quality Technician’s primary function is to evaluate higher level piece parts, fixtures and gages, by manufactured standards to ensure product reliability and maintain established quality goals.  This is to be done with little or no supervision to maintain a high degree of safety, quality, and productivity.

 

This is a 1st Shift position.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Ability to measure angular dimensions, radii, contours, clearance thread lead and other specifications, using precision measuring instruments.
  • Compute angles, radius and other dimensions not given in specifications, using algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
  • Up to 20% of duties will involve test stand calibration
  • Inspect all products where gaging and standard practices are not established.
  • Knowledge of layout work using surface plate technique to position work piece in order to check it to blueprint specification.
  • Perform complex inspections with existing programs utilizing CMM equipment.
  • Determine mechanical function of gages for fit of moving parts, hardness and accuracy, and make adjustments to inaccurate instruments.
  • General and OEM gravimetric testing.
  • Maintain safety and good housekeeping while reporting any gaps.
  • Read and interpret blueprints to verify conformity.

 

What We're Looking For

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent. 
  • 12 months’ experience working in a quality function in a manufacturing environment.
  • Technical knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to solve problems with limited information.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in a related field
  • Two (2) to four (4) years in advanced inspection. 
  • Knowledge of quality control inspection procedures. 
  • Knowledge of and ability to operate precision measuring equipment devices relative to quality control functions.

Job Criteria

  • Must have good communication skills and maintain a positive and respectful attitude. Contact with management, suppliers and customers are a regular occurrence.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools including at a minimum Outlook, Excel, Word and Power Point.
  • Demonstrate flexible and efficient time management and the ability to prioritize.
