Job Description
To improve our organization and to support the future growth and success of Danfoss, we are looking for a Sr. Cost Accountant.
This position is responsible for controlling the operations related to: Cost and all financial metrics analysis, support in preparing the month end, forecast and profit plan for manufacturing expenses, cost and inventory balance sheet accounts, prepare the daily and weekly report for top management at plant or division, internal controls review such as policies, procedures and annual reviews, assists on external and internal audits.
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Analyze variation of standard cost and determine causes for the implementation of corrective measures.
- Processing and analysis of the cost of production and sales statements reports to achieve finance metrics accordingly.
- Updates the standard cost by calculating burden, tack on and material costs, validating prices and impact on results, running processes updating costs high, low and changes in articles by engineering as well as validating the same.
- Reports, analysis, monitoring the scrap generated in the plant and quarantine area
- Reports, analysis, inventory reconciliations and special moves on them, is responsible for informing the appropriate anomalies and potential problems to take preventive actions.
- Support and monitoring of charges to suppliers generated by quality problems or any other defect.
- Integration of monthly purchases accounting and transfer prices analysis.
- Support the realization of reports and special activities such as physical inventories on site and 3rd party processors, financial projections, forecast and profit plan.
- On audit fieldwork on site in charge of internal controls, inventory and cost.
- Prepare complex financial analysis for management, including analysis of main variances to forecast, profit plan, last year, quarters and standard.
- Assist the controller with balance sheet analysis, income statement analysis and cost of production statement for reporting, audit and tax purposes.
Background & Skills
The ideal candidate possesses these skills:
• Bachelor degree in accounting or related financial field
• 3-5 years’ experience in either a corporate or public Accounting environment
• MFG pro, Oracle, SAP, Encore and RSD knowledge.
• Understanding of budgets and cost drivers.
• Basic working knowledge of accounting and / or cost.
• English advanced (written and oral)
• Leadership skills to delegate and resolve multiple situations effectively.
• Work under the guidelines, policies and process of Danfoss Philosophy, IATF 16949 and ISO 14000 Environmental.
