Manufacturing Team Lead

Job Description

The Manufacturing Team Lead reports directly to the Manufacturing Manager and will play a crucial role in helping the facility achieve manufacturing goals by ensuring improved safety, quality, delivery, and cost to all manufacturing processes. The team leader will identify and eliminate waste though use of lean manufacturing principles.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following. 

  • Daily review of any safety improvements from previous day.  Investigate issue and ensure implementation of permanent corrective action.
  • Daily review of loss tracking.  Identify loss trends and develop and implement process improvements.
  • Daily review of quality issues from previous day (First pass yield, customer returns, scrap).  Investigate issue, compare operations execution to standard work and job in process sheet, and correct operations or drive change to the standard work document, whichever is required.
  • Review transactional discipline (negatives, etc.), and implement permanent corrective actions in areas of concern.
  • Work on special projects in high-impact areas of the facility to ensure production goals are met
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Required (basic) qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • 3 years of manufacturing experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access)

 

Preferred qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (business, engineering, operations, etc.)
  • Experience in lean manufacturing principles
  • Lean Six Sigma green belt
  • Fork/Industrial Lift certification

  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. regularly
  • Stand/walk for up to 10 hours per day
