Job Description
The Process Improvement / Continuous Improvement (CI) Engineer reports to the CI Manager and is assigned to major continuous improvement projects and initiatives that help the plant to improve performance. The CI Engineer utilizes their technical abilities to multi-task and solve problems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The CI Engineer assists the CI Manager in leading the organization in driving change through cross-functional teams. The CI Engineer monitors and communicates Key Performance Indicator trends.
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.
- Partner with the CI Manager to drive improvements based on the Danfoss Business System (DBS)
- Lead CI problem solving activities to improve process performance in Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost/Productivity (SQDC) to eliminate loss from the root cause and avoid recurrence of problems
- Lead strategic CI projects using the Define Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control (DMAIC) process improvement cycle
- Analyze and interpret SQDC Key Performance Indicator trends to provide predictability to the business and create improvements through cross-functional teams
- Lead Kaizen events with cross-functional teams to implement sustainable Lean solutions using the A3 and 8D problem solving methodologies
- Develops procedures, reports, dashboards, and training to facilitate leveraging these systems to efficiently achieve SQDC goals

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3 years’ experience in Continuous Improvement, Lean, or Process Engineering
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in an Engineering field
- Minitab statistical software, MS Power BI, Advanced MS Excel skills, MS Access
- Proven experience in DMAIC Lean Six Sigma projects and leading Kaizen events
- Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt by ASQ (American Society for Quality), or equivalent Lean Silver or Gold by AME (Association for Manufacturing Excellence) from recognized worldwide entity is a plus.
