The Impact You'll Make

This programming technician position is located in Searcy, Arkansas and will report directly to the Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor. 

The programming technical will modify and develop CNC programs from product and tooling drawings that will produce precision parts in accordance with applicable engineering specifications.  Emphasis in this position is the complete preparation of CNC programs, documentation, and the training of the shop floor personnel.  Interaction will be required with manufacturing engineers, supervisors, lead people and other employees to satisfy the needs of our customers and Danfoss. 

This is a 1st Shift position.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Modify and create programs with proper tool sequence and feeds/speeds to optimize the machining process.
  • Set up, adjust, prove out programs, and operate computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools to exact tolerances.
  • Program and document revisions as required including work procedures, tool lists, and process sheets.
  • Collecting, compiling data for PPAP submittal.
  • Operate Coordinate Measurement Machines (CMM), height gage, calipers, micrometers, profilometers and other quality gages to verify part quality.
  • Provide input on machining efficiency improvements and cost versus benefit analysis of new tooling considerations. 

What We're Looking For

 

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of two years of experience operating manual, NC, and/or CNC machine tools or previous programming experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred, preferably with courses in mechanical drawing, shop mathematics and machining practices.
  • Prefer a formal job training or equivalent program to acquire a general knowledge of machining techniques, setup methods and operating procedures on conventional and numerically operated machine tools. 
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical information i.e. drawings, CMM reports, engineering standards, JIP sheets, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability of writing programs for horizontal and / or vertical machining centers and / or turning machines
  • CMM programming experience
  • Cutting tool knowledge
