Senior Engineer - Continuous Improvement

The Continuous Improvement (CI) Engineer reports to the CI Manager, and is assigned to major Lean and Six Sigma continuous improvement projects and initiatives that helps the Plant to improve performance. The CI Engineer is an individual who possesses technical abilities to multi-task and solve problems in practical ways in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The CI Engineer is also a leader for the organization that drives change and leads cross-functional teams for Safety, Quality, Production, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and Engineering for process improvement. The CI Engineer is a leader that is able to connect with people and influence them for implementing new methods, measurement systems, tools, and Industry 4.0 technologies. The CI Engineer provides visibility to the Plant in key performance indicators trends, recurrent cycles, and data management. As a data expert the CI Engineer supports the strategic goals for Danfoss Power Solutions.

 

Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following. 

  • Lead CI problem solving activities and task force to improve process performance in SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery and Performance) to eliminate chronic losses from the root cause and avoid recurrence of problems
  • Lead CI strategic Lean Six Sigma projects using the DMAIC process improvement cycle
  • Lead CI Rapid Improvement Events (Kaizen events) to improve SQDC 
  • Analyze and interpret SQDC key performance indicators: trends, recurrent cycles, stationary behavior, and statistical analysis to provide predictability to the business
  • Lead and influence the Continuous Improvement Teams (CIT cross-functional teams) to implement sustainable Lean solutions using the A3/8Ds problem solving methodologies
  • Implements Lean and continuous improvement best practices through the organization
  • Understand and troubleshoots processes using design of experiments
  • Develops procedures, reports, dashboards, and training to facilitate leveraging these systems to efficiently achieve SQDC goals

 
Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in Engineering and 3-5 years of working experience in CI roles. 

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minitab statistical software, MS Power BI, MS Power Apps, MS Power Automate, MS Guides 365 Hololens 2, Advanced MS Excel skills, MS Access, and simulation software SIM CAD, Arena, or Flexsim. 
  • Proven experience in DMAIC Lean Six Sigma projects, leading Kaizen events, and Industry 4.0 initiatives.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green or Black by ASQ (American Society for Quality), or equivalent Lean Silver or Gold by AME (Association for Manufacturing Excellence) from recognized worldwide entity is a plus.
