Job Description
Responsible for the set up and safe operation of basic tool room equipment used in the manufacture and/or repair of facility tooling and fixtures.
Actively support and strive to meet the strategic goals set by yourself, the facility and Danfoss.
Job Responsibilities
- Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Assisting engineers and shop personnel in analyzing problems and making suggestions as to proper corrective actions.
- Make decisions as to the proper methods and tools to be used in the fabrication and/or repair of tooling and fixtures.
- The proper use of tool geometry, precision measurement techniques and blueprint reading in fabricating and/or repairing tooling and fixtures.
- Work from complex drawings and specifications independently.
- Safe use and proper care of standard tool room equipment, (i.e. lathes, surface grinders, milling machines, etc)
- Ability to work with Mfg. Engineers & operators to identify problems & make recommendations on how to make changes for improvement or design new fixtures to improve operations.
- Working knowledge of shop math, blueprint reading, GD & T, calipers, gages, and various mechanical operations to ensure product specifications.
- Employee must follow all safety rules, report all accidents or unsafe conditions to supervision immediately, and wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Employee is responsible for the housekeeping of his/her work area and should maintain these areas to the 5S+ standards.
- Employee is responsible for the quality of his/her work.
- Attendance and punctuality is a key component in performing his or her job functions.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Background & Skills
Basic Qualifications:
Three (3) years of tool room experience or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
Completed an accredited Tool & Die Program (or apprenticeship program)|
Experience with programming and running CNC machines and CNC tools
Working knowledge of hydraulics is a plus

While performing the duties of this job, the employee:
Frequent:
- Standing, bending at knee’s, push, pulling, lifting 1 –25 lbs.
- Climbing 6-8 inches (Platform).
- Reaching at shoulder level and above.
Occasional:
- Sitting, walking, stair climbing, and lifting 25 – 45 lbs.
- The maximum weight that an employee is required to lift safely is 45 lbs.
