As a Senior Field Application Engineer (F/H), you help customers turn complex power electronics challenges into reliable, high‑performance solutions. Your expertise directly shapes how Semikron Danfoss intelligent power modules, gate drivers, and power stacks perform in real‑world applications.
You work at the intersection of technology and customer success, supporting applications from early design to on‑site troubleshooting. Your work ensures our solutions are safe, efficient, and competitive in demanding markets like energy storage and motor drives.
Based in Sartrouville, Paris area, you are part of a global application engineering community and play a visible role with customers, sales, R&D, and quality teams across Semikron Danfoss.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Support customers end to end, reviewing technical requirements, performing electrical and thermal calculations, and recommending the right power semiconductor solutions
- Solve real application challenges, troubleshooting power electronics systems both on customer sites and in your own test setups, together with global application and quality teams
- Be the technical expert, answering product and application questions from customers and sales colleagues with clarity and confidence
- Test, measure, and document, performing measurements on power electronics systems and contributing to test reports, application notes, and technical requirements
- Bring the market voice inside, sharing insights on customer needs, applications, and benchmarking competitor solutions to support continuous product improvement
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a comparable qualification
- A solid understanding of power semiconductor operation, DC/DC and DC/AC converters, and the language of electrical engineering
- Hands‑on experience with simulation and calculation tools (e.g. SPICE, PSIM) and electrical test equipment (oscilloscope, power supply, DMM)
- The ability to work safely with high‑voltage systems (approximately 50–1500 VDC) and perform measurements in customer environments
- Considered a plus: experience in high‑power applications (>100 kW) or markets like energy storage, motor drives, wind, or solar
- Strong communication skills and business fluency in French and English
