The Impact You'll Make
Imagine your work directly contributing to a more sustainable future. In this role, you will be at the heart of innovation at Danfoss Sensing Solutions, developing the intelligent algorithms that make our sensors smarter, more accurate, and incredibly reliable.
You’ll be the expert ensuring our sensors perform flawlessly in critical applications, from optimizing energy efficiency in data centers and renewable energy systems to enabling precise control in heavy machinery. Your focus on the smallest details will have a massive impact on performance and sustainability.
This is a unique opportunity to see your expertise in data and algorithms translate into real-world solutions that enhance energy efficiency and build a greener tomorrow. You’ll join a flexible, forward-thinking team of R&D specialists passionate about digital innovation.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Sensor Performance Specialist, you will be instrumental in shaping the next generation of sensor technology.
You will:
- Solve real-world sensor puzzles, using data analysis and simulation to explain why a sensor in the field might have a systematic offset, and then proposing a fast, effective correction that can be deployed quickly and reliably
- Develop innovative algorithms from the ground up, building models of sensor behavior from first principles and testing them on real data
- Ensure algorithm and sensor reliability through systematic, iterative testing and validation, meticulously refining your solutions for production readiness
- Guide solutions through the entire lifecycle, from exploring new concepts in a virtual environment, through testing in the lab to supporting product teams with performance issues in running systems
- Collaborate with a global network of R&D specialists, engineers, and product teams to bring your algorithm concepts to life
What We're Looking For
We are looking for a curious and rigorous technical specialist who is passionate about solving hard problems. You are pragmatic and solution-oriented, able to balance deep analysis with timely delivery, and comfortable working across functions to move solutions forward.
This role requires a strong foundation in data, modeling, and system behavior, along with the following qualifications:
- A Master's or PhD in a relevant field such as Electronics, Control Engineering, Computer & Data Science, Physics, or Applied Mathematics
- High proficiency in Python for data analysis, simulation, and algorithm prototyping
- Proven experience building models from first principles to understand and predict system behavior
- Hands-on experience tackling real-world sensor challenges like noise, drift, offsets, and calibration effects
- Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to explain complex technical topics clearly
- Experience with digital signal processing, machine learning, statistical modeling, control algorithms, or embedded implementation (C/C++) is a significant advantage.
