The Impact You'll Make
This position primarily provides pre-sales technical support for OEM and Key Account Managers. Also responsible for supporting the product management and technical service groups, in their efforts to sell and support Danfoss Turbocor products. Provides compressor, chiller, and heat pump system design expertise and problem-solving skills for OEM customers. Investigate specific application scenarios and coordinate with marketing team to identify the value proposition of Turbocor Compressors.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Provide expert technical consultation service to OEM customers which enables the successful integration of oil free centrifugal compressors into cooling and heat pump products.
- Review and evaluate chiller and heat pump system mechanical, electrical, and control designs.
- Collaborate directly with OEM customers for prototype and product qualification testing.
- Train OEM product development personnel to effectively interpret and apply all relevant technical documentation including the Compressor Performance Rating tool.
- Travel to OEMs to support technical applications, testing, training, sales, and product promotion.
- Make technical presentations on the products’ capabilities and advantages to varied audiences.
- Assist with OEM field startups and troubleshooting of compressor and system issues.
- Cooperate with Marketing team to maintain a comprehensive understanding of major competitive product lines, marketing strategies, current system types and components, and relative costs.
- Produce product comparative analysis and energy use calculations. Effectively communicate this information as needed within the company and OEM customers.
- Interface and collaborate with company engineering and R&D on development and field implementation of new products and revisions of existing products. Provide input to specifications and product capabilities.
- Develop and release technical documentation & Case Studies.
- Work with technical service personnel in evaluating the products and system performance and feed back to engineering with any relevant data that would be of benefit to the company.
- Responsible for understanding and complying with quality policies, procedures, and instructions to ensure product quality, customer satisfaction, attainment of business goals and environmental well-being.
- Take responsibility and ownership of assigned key vertical applications on value propositions evaluation via identifying application pain points, Energy consumption comparison between existing cooling/heating solution and Turbocor compressor applied system and pay back off analysis.
- Coordinate with regional sales team to develop pilot projects for key vertical applications and assist key stakeholders in marketing promotion.

Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or other technically related degrees.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with chiller/heat pump systems and/or centrifugal compressor technology.
- Strong interpersonal, influencing, oral and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in engineering
- Experience with Centrifugal chiller
- Experience in pre-sales technical solution support for chillers or heat pumps
- Knowledge of VFD systems and electrical systems
Other Competencies
- Fluent English skill on listening, speaking, reading, writing and presenting.
- Ability to define problems, analyze refrigeration and control systems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions, electrical and mechanical schematic diagrams and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
- Ability to respond to technical inquiries or complaints from customers. Ability to effectively present information to top management could be required.
- The successful applicant will be based in Shanghai/Eastern Region, but will be required to travel in China frequently and potentially in Asia region for training and application support.
- Persuasive presentation skills.
