Job Description

We have an opportunity for a Financial Analyst to join our diverse team. The Financial Analyst is a key position within the Finance Community and is responsible for preparing financial analysis and assisting in development of financial forecasts, profit planning and month end close. The Financial Analyst will also collect financial data and ensure conformity with corporate policies and procedures; as well as prepare and take ownership of financial reports for presentation to plant management and will perform payroll process and account reconciliations.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following.

  • Apply generally accepted accounting principles and techniques in all tasks performed.  Point out suspected areas of deviations and non-compliance to management for correction.
  • Respond to internal and external audits timely and ensure continued plant compliance with SOX requirements
  • Provide financial analysis and assistance to the Accounting Supervisor and the Plant Controller through an in-depth understanding of company accounting policies and practices and business operations. 
  • Develop familiarity with local ERP systems and demonstrate cognitive understanding of their relationship to business processes, specifically financial transactions.
  • Analyze Price variances, Scrap, Material Usage and all other variances and supply explanations for variances and put systems in place to assure these variances are not repeated.
  • Reconcile Balance Sheet accounts and supply explanations for variances and put systems in place to assure these variances are not repeated.
  • Assure accuracy of cost reductions and supply breakdown by project of Material, Labor and Other. Report actual and forecast on cost out database.
  • Support Annual Physical Inventory. Assure accuracy of results by establishing and maintaining proper inventory controls.
  • Understand and maintain the standard cost system. Assure accuracy of standards. Review routers and BOMs for accuracy. Update standard costs and support transfer pricing process and updates.
  • Support the processing of payroll and continually monitor the cost systems for identification of and recommendation for process improvements required for effective operational support
  • Prepare monthly journal entries and complete other month end closing processes; support forecasting processes and annual profit planning.
  • Prepare capital appropriation requests and work with cross function teams to ensure projects are performed timely and within the budget
  • Complete daily reports timely and present to staff. Support various ad-hoc analysis and reporting to Division.

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university with an emphasis in Finance/Accounting.
  • All candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.          

Preferred Qualifications

  • One year experience in the field of Finance/Accounting.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • CPA / CMA Certification
  • Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret accounting theories in order to implement practical judgment.
  • Possess communication skills and human relation principles to work with others in the organization.
  • Possess a good working knowledge of corporate policies and procedures and appropriate internal controls.
