The EHS Supervisor plays a key role in supporting the Environmental, Health, and Safety programs in a manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for collecting and analyzing EHS data, ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting incident investigations, and helping drive a strong safety culture across the site.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Collect, maintain, and analyze data related to safety incidents, near misses, environmental metrics, and compliance activities.
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of EHS Management system and programs in line with Danfoss and regulatory standards (e.g., OSHA, EPA, ISO 14001, ISO 45001). Participate in internal and external EHS audits and ensure findings are addressed and closed effectively.
- Participate in incident investigations and root cause analyses, track corrective and preventive actions to closure
- Participate in the Management of Change (MOC) process to ensure EHS risks, regulatory requirements, permits, training, emergency preparedness, and critical safety systems are evaluated before changes are implemented.
- Support implementation and compliance with Danfoss Life Protection Standards, including Machine Safety, Lockout/Tagout, Electrical Safety, Fall Protection, Confined Space, and Powered Industrial Vehicles
- Support the development, implementation, and testing of Emergency Response and Business Continuity plans. Coordinate and participate in emergency drills, including fire, chemical spill, severe weather, medical emergencies, and other site-specific scenarios.
- Help ensure compliance with air, water, waste, and chemical management regulations.
- Assist with employee safety training, toolbox talks, and communication of safety policies and procedures.
- Track and report EHS Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to management.
- Maintains documentation, records, and permits in accordance with internal and external requirements.
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and other departments to improve workplace safety and sustainability through employee engagement, safety observations/potential hazards, near-miss
- Provide visible leadership and guidance to shop staff in order to foster EHS continuous improvements and best practices;
- Responsible for the disciplinary process in the area of counseling, documentation; ensures a productive climate.
- Perform other related tasks and assignments, as necessary.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 1–3 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting required.
- Knowledge of relevant EHS regulations (OSHA, EPA, local requirements).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make actionable recommendations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment.
- Drive for results
Preferred Qualifications –
- Experience with EHS software platforms (e.g., VelocityEHS, Enhesa, Chemwatch) is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
- Occasional walking within warehouse or production areas
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (as needed)
- Frequent use of computers and office equipment
- Works in an environment where inattention could cause injury
- Combination of office and manufacturing/warehouse setting
- Typically works in a plant or manufacturing environment, with some time spent outdoors.
- Exposure to noise, moving equipment, and varying temperatures when on the production floor.
