As our new Software Engineer HVAC Applications (m/f/d), you'll play a key role in the continued development of Coolselector®, Danfoss' industry-leading software platform used by customers worldwide to select, calculate, and optimize refrigeration and HVAC systems. By combining engineering knowledge with modern software development practices, you'll help create solutions that improve system performance, simplify complex calculations, and support the transition toward more sustainable cooling technologies.
Working alongside software developers, HVAC specialists, and product experts, you'll contribute to digital solutions that have a direct impact on customers, products, and the future of climate solutions.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services, application modules, and core functionality for the Coolselector® platform.
- Develop and optimize engineering calculation engines, thermodynamic models, and product selection logic.
- Collaborate with HVAC experts, product specialists, and software engineers to translate business requirements into scalable software solutions.
- Work closely with an interdisciplinary team across several European Danfoss locations
- Build maintainable, modular, and extensible software architectures that support future product growth.
- Ensure software quality through testing, code reviews, and continuous integration practices.
- Support release activities, technical documentation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
What We're Looking For
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience developing engineering software, calculation tools, simulation applications, or technical software solutions.
- Strong software development skills using C#/.NET.
- Knowledge of HVAC systems, refrigeration technologies, thermodynamics, or engineering calculations.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Experience with Git, automated testing, CI/CD environments, cloud technologies, or agile development methodologies is considered an advantage.
