Job Description

  • Define and deploy reliability growth strategy for Danfoss Turbocor Compressors (DTC)
  • Develop cutting-edge reliability processes and methods to secure business success
  • Lead reliability activities in new product development and other engineering practices
  • Reduce field failures by working on product reliability and R&D quality processes
  • Reduce warranty costs
  • Assist in managing customer reliability crises

Job Responsibilities

  • ​​​Develop reliability processes / methods and Lead the reliability efforts in product development and engineering activities
    • Establish reliability goals and plans
    • Lead reliability engineering efforts with project teams to support design for reliability, validation and qualification of product reliability
    • Facilitate cross-functional risk assessments (e.g. DFMEA) in product life cycle (from design, development to product continuous improvements)
    • Carry out or oversight endurance tests
    • Deploy the Reliability Growth Analysis method (reliability level validation during product development)
    • Monitoring reliability performance in new products in the stage of M5-M6 to ensure early trend of reliability issues being addressed
  • Work closely with DTC Quality System and Utilize the issue tracking databases to monitor the products reliability performance. Build the plan to reduce the field defects by leading multi-department workshops (Quality, R&D, Applications, Sales and Operation), follow-up meetings, brainstorming, to reinforce product reliability
    • Develop quality and reliability data analysis methods and tools
    • Identify early trend of reliability/quality issues by closely monitoring quality/reliability data
    • Actively lead/participate investigations on reliability issues
    • Promote knowledge-sharing on reliability issues within the various departments
  • Help solve reliability problems
  • Analyze risks: statistical studies using statistical tools and database
  • Coordinate internal players in the event of a reliability crisis to resolve the problem quickly and efficiently
  • Monitor ongoing actions of reliability issues and ensure their resolution
  • Reliability Benchmarking
  • Benchmark DTC legacy products and industrial equivalent products reliability performance
  • Define reliability benchmarking requirement
  • Evaluate necessary provisions with Finance, Quality and the DTC leadership team in the event of customer compensation requests and follow up on compensation agreements
  • Communicate reliability related topics to customers under the direction of DTC leadership team
  • Understand and comply with quality policy, procedures and instructions to ensure product quality, customer satisfaction, attainment of business goals and environmental well-being

Education and/or Experience

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in engineering, industrial, software, physics or equivalent
  • Minimum of 10 years industry experiences in Reliability, Quality, or R&D
  • Knowledgeable in advanced reliability tools such as Reliability Prediction, Reliability Diagram, FMEA, Fault Tree, Weibull, HALT and ALT test methodologies, FRACAS (Failure Reporting and Corrective Action System), and 8D problem solving.
  • Hand-on experience with a pragmatic approach working with cross-functional teams

 

Preferred Qualifications: (Education, Skills, Experience, and/or Languages that are nice to have but not required):

Experiences in highly mechanical-electronics (Mechatronics) products in the field of reliability, quality or engineering

Language and Communication:

  • Fluently read, speak and write in English
  • Ability to articulate and communicate effectively on complex or sensitive issues from the details to strategies to the company leadership team, vendors and customers
  • Ability to express oneself effectively in front of groups internally and externally
  • Master effective written and oral communication on different issues including disputing
  • Ability to prepare program summaries for peer, executive, or customer reviews. Able to plan, organize and facilitate efficient working-level and review level meetings

 

 

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Strong analytical skills. Must have basic project co-ordination skills and a personal drive to offer data-based directions
