Job Description

Danfoss Drives is looking for a talented Development Engineer, Power Electronics to join an exciting journey to Danfoss Drives R&D where we will engineer the frequency converters of tomorrow. Your responsibility is to take part in and ensure the development of innovative, cost effective and reliable power electronic solutions. This position is located at Tampere and is part of the Danfoss Drives Product Development Center Finland.

Job Responsibilities

If you take the challenge as our new Development Engineer in Power Electronics, you will work with integrated product development and your scope will be all or some of the following frequency converter power electronics circuits/functions: Power circuit dimensioning, simulation, inductive component design, filter design and derating.

Background & Skills

We are looking for a candidate with an appropriate technical degree (B.Sc. or M.Sc.) in relevant area. Furthermore, you need:

 

  • Knowledge of frequency converters and their main circuit components
  • Knowledge of relevant design & simulation tools and methods (e.g. Maxwell, Q3D, Simplorer, Matlab Simulink etc.)
  • Familiarity using various test instruments, such as oscilloscopes, etc.
  • Problem-solving skills and systematic ways of working
  • Positive and open-minded attitude
  • A good command of English and at least basic command of Finnish
  • Taking part in continually improving design rules, best practice and design tools
