Job Description

 

Danfoss is looking for an enthusiastic Facility Manager in Utica, NY. The Facilities Manager works closely with Global Services (GS) real estate team and all functional areas of the business to meet organizational goals of multiple active development projects. These projects can encompass construction, building remodeling, energy savings, security, branding, landscaping, office leasing and footprint strategy.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

 

  • Directly responsible for day-to-day facility activities for Utica, Baltimore and Oakville, Canada. The position will be based out of Utica with eighty percent of the job being focused on Utica.
  • Coordinate with third party facility management companies on any project related work.
  • Engage with Finance and Procurement to ensure proper execution of purchase orders, departmental charges, cost control of expense and capital budgets.
  • Proficient understanding of building systems (Security, HVAC, Electrical, Mechanical, BMS)
  • BMS (Building Management System):  GE IFIX SCADA System: Understand and be able to manage sub-systems connected to SCADA Software. A separate Metasys system controls comfort cooling systems.
  • Work closely with GS organizational matrix and local business managers to develop project schedules and ensures timely completion of project activities and within budget.
  • Travel to business sites to work on projects or resolve issues as needed.
  • Ensure effective and timely understanding and communication of project status, risks, and resource requirements.
  • Helps coordinate projects with local contractors, engineering firms and vendors for Global Services.
  • Support Environmental and Safety initiatives at each site and any ESG initiatives.

Background & Skills

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • 5+ years of experience in Facility Management
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office.
  • Proficient using AutoCAD.
  • Be able to review and understand blueprints, building drawings and schematic diagrams. 

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business, Science, or Engineering (Electrical)
  • Previous project management experience 
  • Experience working within a clean room environment

  • Possesses solid general cross-functional understanding in such areas as building systems, operations, finance, and procurement.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute projects with urgency and high quality.
  • Proven skills in building relationships and influencing all levels involved in the projects.
  • The candidate must be able to work in a team atmosphere, and must possess strong communication, decision making, interpersonal skills in an organizational matrix.

Hiring Salary Range: $91,000 to $115,000/year. Base salary to be determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity and alignment with market data.
