Work Location Type:  On-site
Job Title:  Senior Manager, Field Service

The Impact You'll Make

The Manager, Field Service Engineering leads the field technical-response organization responsible for onsite investigation, evidence collection, application assessment, authorized service support, and technical field reporting. The role ensures Field Service Engineers are deployed based on customer risk and business priority, use consistent investigation methods, work safely, and deliver complete, objective, and timely evidence to Customer Claims Handling, Site Quality, Engineering, and Global Quality.

The FSE Manager owns the quality and execution of field investigation and field technical support. The role does not own formal customer claim closure, final customer-quality communication, site root-cause approval, site corrective-action implementation, product disposition, or global QMS policy. The expected salary range for this position is 120-150K based on experience and industry knowledge.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Team Leadership: Lead, coach, develop, and evaluate FSE personnel; define technical expectations, coverage models, escalation paths, training plans, and succession needs.
  • Resource Deployment: Prioritize and assign field support based on safety, customer impact, production disruption, strategic importance, technical complexity, and available resources.
  • Investigation Standards: Establish standard methods for pre-visit preparation, onsite assessment, data collection, photographs, measurements, interviews, sample handling, chain of custody, technical reporting, and follow-up.
  • Technical Oversight: Review and approve field investigation plans and reports for high-risk or complex cases; ensure conclusions are supported by observed facts and clearly separated from unverified hypotheses.
  • Safety Leadership: Ensure risk assessments, site orientation, required PPE, lockout/tagout, electrical safety, lifting, travel safety, and customer-site rules are followed.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, industrial, manufacturing, systems, or another relevant engineering discipline; equivalent technical experience may be considered where appropriate.
  • Typically eight or more years of experience in field service, product engineering, application engineering, quality engineering, failure analysis, manufacturing, or a related industrial environment.
  • Typically three or more years of people-leadership, technical-leadership, or significant field-program leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex technical customer situations, field investigations, and cross-functional problem resolution.
  • Experience in a global, matrixed, and customer-facing organization is strongly preferred.
