Danfoss is seeking a Senior Supply Chain Manager to lead planning, scheduling, purchasing, inventory management, and order fulfillment activities at our liquid-cooling manufacturing and distribution facility in Utica, New York. This role is responsible for ensuring customer demand, production capacity, material availability, and inventory strategies are aligned to support business growth and delivery commitments. Success in this role means maintaining a reliable supply chain, driving strong delivery performance, managing supply risks, and developing a high-performing team that supports both manufacturing operations and customer satisfaction. The expected salary range for this position is $125,000 - $165,000 based on experience and industry knowledge.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead production planning, scheduling, purchasing, inventory management, and order fulfillment activities to support manufacturing and customer delivery requirements,
- Ensure materials and components are available to meet production schedules, product launches, customer commitments, and expedited requests.
- Manage supply chain risks by addressing supplier delays, material shortages, capacity constraints, inventory issues, and delivery challenges.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive improvements in supplier performance, inventory health, schedule adherence, backlog management, and on-time delivery.
- Support Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), demand planning, capacity planning, launch readiness, and site operating reviews.
- Maintain ERP/MRP planning accuracy, including lead times, planning parameters, inventory transactions, purchase orders, production orders, and promise dates.
- Partner with Operations, Engineering, and Logistics teams to improve material flow, warehouse efficiency, kitting processes, packaging readiness, and production support.
- Collaborate with Quality and Sourcing teams to resolve supplier quality issues, implement corrective actions, and support alternate sourcing strategies.
- Balance inventory investment, service levels, supplier constraints, and customer priorities to support business objectives.
- Develop and coach supply chain team members through training, performance management, standard work, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support business continuity planning and recovery efforts related to critical materials, transportation disruptions, supplier risks, and demand fluctuations.
- Communicate supply chain risks, priorities, and recovery plans with leadership, customer-facing teams, and business partners.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Logistics, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- Previous supply chain leadership experience in a manufacturing and/or distribution environment.
- Experience with production planning, purchasing, inventory management, supplier management, and customer delivery support.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree, APICS/ASCM certification, or other relevant supply chain certifications.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems, Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), production scheduling, and tactical purchasing.
- Experience in fluid conveyance, thermal management, automotive, electronics, HVAC/R, industrial products, or other complex manufacturing environments.
- Experience supporting new product launches, business growth initiatives, and supply chain transformation projects.
Job Criteria
- Strong understanding of supply chain planning, production scheduling, purchasing, inventory control, warehouse operations, and order fulfillment processes.
- Ability to analyze demand forecasts, inventory performance, supplier delivery metrics, capacity constraints, and customer service requirements.
- Experience managing supplier escalations, material shortages, inventory strategies, and delivery recovery plans.
- Knowledge of planning parameters, safety stock strategies, replenishment methods, and supply chain best practices.
- Ability to effectively collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Finance, Logistics, Sourcing, and customer-facing teams.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to drive accountability and influence cross-functional decision-making.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize competing demands and make sound business decisions in a fast-paced environment.
