In line with this commitment, we are on the lookout for an experienced Lead Software Engineer to join and enhance our VACON® software development team. You will play a critical role in delivering high-quality features that meet our business objectives and address technical challenges for our global customers.

Job Responsibilities

 

Join us as a Lead Software Engineer where you will serve as a catalyst within our VACON® software development team. In this role, you'll leverage your technical expertise to enhance the team's skills, fostering a culture of collaborative problem-solving and collective decision-making. You'll not only strategize but also roll up your sleeves to tackle programming tasks, demonstrating the value of hands-on coding. As both a mentor and collaborator, your guidance will be as much about listening as it is leading, ensuring that our shared experiences drive innovation and progress.

While our preferred location for this position is in the thriving tech community of Vaasa, we may consider placement in our Tampere office.
 
Core Responsibilities: 


•    Interpret industry standards, legislative requirements, and customer insights into functional software designs on mature software architecture.
•    Drive the architectural design and development of software for mature embedded systems.
•    Boost your team's technical delivery capabilities by fostering knowledge sharing, pursuing continuous learning, and proactively contributing innovative ideas.
•    Foster a culture of continuous improvement.
•    Collaborate on identifying, diagnosing, and resolving issues of different complexity.

Background & Skills

 

Essential Qualifications: 


•    Proven expertise in software development with C; additional experience with assembler is advantageous.
•    Several years of direct experience in embedded software development; additional knowledge with embedded hardware development is advantageous.
•    A collaborative team player who actively engages with the development team, product managers, product owners, and experts across various teams to drive success.
•    An understanding of the software-related aspects of the industrial manufacturing process.
•    Background in software development for drive products or related industrial applications.
•    A degree in engineering, whether bachelor's or master's level.
•    Proficiency in English; basic communication skills in Swedish or Finnish is advantageous.
