Sr. Human Resources Generalist

Job Description

The Senior Human Resources Generalist is responsible for managing various HR specialiteis within the funcion; providing excellent customer service to assigned buiness groups and employees; and administrative support plant strategic HR initiatives. Specific duties include, but are not limited to: (1) leading contractor hiring, onboarding and offboarding; (2) Co-leading production / hourly recruiting and onboarding; (3) leading plant communication and engagement event initiatives; and (4) assisting with employee relations, benefits and leave of absence administration.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following. 

 

  • Provide HR guidance and direction to ensure consistent administration of policies and procedures across the facility. Work with business groups to develop talent, provide counsel and support to resolve interpersonal conflicts and employee relation issues.
  • Responsible for coordinating and partnering to drive employee engagement efforts.  This includes new hire onboarding, interviews, roundtables, leading various employee committee(s), recognition events, community events, and other meetings as needed.
  • Provides excellent customer service and administrative support to all levels of employees as well as external customers.
  • Lead for various HR functions as assigned such as internal job postings, onboarding, security badge management, HRMS data entry, etc.
  • Handles employment related issues with employees and supervisors, investigates as needed and provides coaching and counseling when appropriate.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; and training and development.
  • Supports facility safety initiatives and encourages communication and participation of personnel to further identify and reduce/eliminate potential hazards.  Enforces applicable safety and health guidelines when necessary.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resource, talent management, and employment law.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Background & Skills

 

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree 
  • Minimum three years of HR Generalist Experience

 

Preferred Qualifcations:

  • An understanding of all plant policies and guidelines
  • Minimum one year of manufacturing experience 
  • Advanced degree 

 

Job Criteria:

  • Excellent communication and employee relation skills. 
  • Excellent PC skills required: Microsoft Applications and Outlook
  • Specialized knowledge of the interpretation of laws, regulations and standards, and enforcement agencies for equal employment opportunities, safety, wage and hour, unemployment, workers’ compensation and labor law.

 

Must be able to work in the US without sponsorship, both now and in the future.
