Job Description

AAIM Controls, Inc., a unit of Danfoss, LLC specializing in the design and manufacture of power controls, automation solutions, and embedded microprocessor control products for equipment in the industrial refrigeration industry, has an opening for a Power Engineer.  The role will be responsible for designing Power Panels for 460V or 575V industrial applications. These panels will incorporate Variable Frequency Drive (VFD), Solid State starters, Motor Control Centers.  

Job Responsibilities

  • Design Power Panels utilizing AutoCAD and/or Eplan for panel layout and wiring diagrams and make panel component selection
  • Create BOM’s for OEM panels and standard power panels and power/PLC panels
  • Create and read logic and flow diagrams for program design, programming, simulation and testing, and start-up.
  • Develop and implement standard engineering practices, as well as provide detailed documentation upon project completion
  • Collaborate with in-house production personnel to troubleshoot electrical/programming related issues 
  • Provide technical support, problem solving, documentation maintenance, modifications, and continuous improvement for power panels
  • Provide direct assistance to contractors to train/troubleshoot electrical issues from the office
  • Act as Liaison between Engineering and Production on continuous improvement initiatives and drawing/BOM updates
  • Investigate and approve manufacturers hardware and implementation designs

Background & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree (EE, or Mechatronics) or equivalent from an accredited college, or related experience will be considered. 
  • Experience/understanding with UL508A/NEC Standards
  • Good time management and project management skills to organize and plan effectively in developing effective systems and processes.
  • Knowledge of communication and controls networking principles and/or training
  • Ability to read, write and understand PLC programs and to create and read wiring diagrams, is a plus
