At Danfoss, you won’t just be designing interfaces; you’ll be shaping the user experience of technologies that are driving the green transition. This is your opportunity to apply your skills to products that make a real-world difference in sustainability and energy efficiency.
This role places you at the heart of our digital innovation. You will be a key player in developing a shared design system that ensures our complex monitoring and controller software is not only powerful but also intuitive and consistent for users worldwide.
This is a unique, hands-on opportunity to bridge the gap between design and development. You will gain invaluable experience working on a real design system, collaborating closely with seasoned designers and developers to turn concepts into reality.
This role can either be based at our Danish locations in Kolding or Nordborg or at our German location in Hamburg. The role requires regular attendance at one of these locations 1-3 times a week.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Working Student (m/f/d) in our team, you will be instrumental in building the foundation of our user interfaces. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Transforming Figma designs into functional, reusable UI components using React, creating practical examples for our development teams.
  • Helping to build and maintain our shared design system, ensuring a high standard of quality and consistency across our software products.
  • Designing and documenting UI components and their behaviors, creating clear guidelines that empower our developers.
  • Bridging the gap between design and development by collaborating with UI designers, frontend developers, and product teams to improve workflows and handovers.
  • Prototyping and building out examples in environments like Storybook to test, validate, and showcase your component creations.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for a motivated and curious student who is passionate about both design and technology. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Currently enrolled as a student in a degree program in UX/UI Design, Software Engineering, Interaction Design, or a related field.
  • A solid understanding of UX/UI fundamentals, including interaction patterns, component-based thinking, and accessibility basics.
  • Practical experience or a strong passion for React, including JSX and component composition.
  • A genuine interest in design systems, component libraries, and creating structured, scalable UI guidelines.
  • A collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills and a desire to connect the worlds of design and code.

What You'll Get from Us

  1. We promote from within and support your learning with mentoring, training, and access to global opportunities.
  2. You’ll have flexibility, autonomy, and support to do your best work while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Your well-being matters to us.

  4. You’ll receive benefits like 13th salary, annual bonus, paid vacation, pension plans, personal insurance, and more. These vary by country and contract, but they’re worth asking about—we think they’re pretty great.
